Principles

What guides our work on every assignment

News video leaves little room for error and little time to correct one. The principles below shape how the team plans, films and delivers. They come from the daily work of covering stories for television newsrooms, and they explain why jobs are run the way they are.

  1. Accuracy

Accuracy means the pictures show what happened and the facts attached to them are right. Our crews confirm places, names and context before filming, and Priya Sharma checks the finished file against your specification. When something is uncertain, we say so to the newsroom plainly instead of letting a guess reach a bulletin.

  2. Speed

Speed comes from preparation, not from cutting corners. Kit is checked before the crew leaves, delivery formats are agreed in advance and editing is planned from the start. Duncan Fraser keeps scheduling clear, so newsrooms know who is going where, and we tell you honestly how long work will take.

  3. Clarity

Clarity applies to the footage and to how we communicate. Pictures are steady and sound is clean, files are named so they are easy to find, and quotations are written in plain terms. Fiona MacLeod keeps each shoot to its agreed brief, so there are no surprises between the request and the result.
